Mission Statement

The California Social Tennis Network is a community-minded, member-based tennis organization focused on exposing adults to the lifetime sport of tennis in California, through round robin,
drop-in tennis, tournaments, and other special tennis events.

Welcome to the California Social Tennis Network
The Network provides organized tennis round robin match play at various locations throughout the week, in addition to a variety of social activities each month of the year.

Locations
We are aiming to offer match play at 3-5 locations throughout the area. Our first location is Weddington Tennis on Whitsett Ave in Studio City.

Match days and Times
In oder to provide affordable mixers and make sure most players have time to participate, we have decided to play our round robins at off-peak hours. During the week, match play will be in the evenings, generally from 7 to 9 pm. For details please see Calendar.

Match Play Format
Most of the round robin mixers will consist of 8-game no ad doubles and mixed doubles sets. Occasionally, when court availability permits, we can offer singles match as well. Each player can expect to play 3-4 sets per drop-in event.

Skill Levels
The majority of players in our Social Tennis Network are of intermediate tennis level (3.5). There will always be a number of players at a higher level, such as 4.0 and 4.5, as well as a few 3.0 players on their way up to advanced levels. Unfortunately, we are currently not offering events for beginners. Please e-mail us at Rich@catennisnetwork.com for beginner clinics and classes.

Charges
Our aim is to keep cost down as much as possible. The charges will reflect the court fees we have to pay to various private and public facilities. At Whitsett in Studio City, we are charging the following rates:

Member rates Monday/Friday nights:
Weeknights after 5 pm = $13.00 per player

Non-Member rates Monday/Friday nights:
Weeknights after 5 pm = $18.00 per player

All charges include a can of new balls provided for every court in play.

Registrations
Our round robin mixers will be handled by collecting payment on the tennis court. Future events may make use of online registrations.
