Executive Director (part time) - California Social Tennis Network, Sherman Oaks

 
  Founded the member based California Social Tennis Network and organized a schedule of weeknight drop-in mixers at Weddington Golf & Tennis in Studio City. Currently working with members to establish social events and tennis outings.  

1999 - 2007

Executive Director (part time) - San Diego Tennis Network, San Diego

 
  Founded the member based San Diego Tennis Network. Organized a schedule of weeknight drop-in mixers at various clubs, such as La Costa Resort & Spa (Carlsbad), Morgan Run Resort & Club (Rancho Santa Fe), Rancho Valencia Resort (Rancho Santa Fe), Surf & Turf Tennis Club (Del Mar).
Directed the club Social Directors to establish a program of social events and tennis outings.
Organized tennis events and the club newsletter for the members of the Bobby Riggs Tennis Club in Encinitas (San Diego North County).

Technical Account Manager - The Active Network, San Diego (remote position)

 
 

Was approached by The Active Network, a $250 Million company in the sports participation and registration industry, to be part of the USTA Tennislink Team after they acquired the USTA account for online registration of 1/2 million tennis players nationwide.

Active, in a pre-IPO state, decided to reduce the size of the Tennislink Team and eliminated the League/Ratings Team Lead position.

  • Supported Coordinators, Captains, Tournament Directors, and players via e-mail and telephone. Used Talisma CRM application.
  • Team Lead for USTA Tennis Leagues and the NTRP Tennis Ratings Program. Trained other Tennislink Team members on Leagues and Ratings applications.
  • Webinar based training of over 1,100 League Coordinators throughout the United States. Training was customized for leadership (Section League Coordinators) and Local league Coordinators. Used Webex and Microsoft as webinar applications.
  • On-site training of Coordinators and leadership in Southern, Florida, Missouri Valley, Eastern, Midwest, Intermountain, Northern, Northern California and Southern California, Arizona Sections. Group sizes from 5 to 100+ trainees.
  • Working closely with the client's national headquarters on enhancements and improvements of their "Tennislink" suite of applications.
  • Participated in NTRP Ratings meetings and discussions as advisor to the National Oversight Group for Ratings (NOG).

  • Developed new clients (ESRI in Redlands, cities and counties in Southern California).
  • Successfully introduced the company to the idea of selling consumables (HP and other wide format printer papers) to specialty businesses that use those printers in the GIS industry.

  Represented European manufacturers of various products in the US for short periods of time by introducing them to market and local representation, showing their product on Trade Shows, and conducting market tests.
Products included: Technical drawing devices, industrial fasteners, household health & fitness products.
 

1983 - 1986

Sales Manager - IGG Electronics, Bremen, Germany and King of Prussia, PA

 
  IGG Electronics was the US branch of a UK company by the name of IGG, Ltd. The division manufactured and sold electronic components and products based on LED technology. I was their Sales Manager in Bremen, Germany and, after a successful year in that position, was transferred to the Pennsylvania office as their new US Sales Manager in mid-1985. Managed 3 sales reps. Six months later the parent company sold their US branch to a local manufacturer of LED components. That new owner, after obtaining all the patents of IGG's state of the art "superbright" LED technology, closed the office. During my 6 months for that US company I was able to increase sales from $40,000 the previous year to $3.5 Mio.
